Hannent Chartered Surveyors

About us

At Hannent Chartered Surveyors we trace our roots back to 1984 when David Hannent set up his practice in Kent, believing that there was a market for an holistic and rounded approach to the Chartered Surveying profession. His son, Paul worked in the family firm before training with London Local Authorities. Paul built up the London wing of the practice whilst moving into contracting in the City of London and then into further education.

This unique heritage and depth and breadth of experience and knowledge means we can deliver an unrivalled service. Today, the practice comprises a truly multidisciplinary team, both directly employed and as consultants, holding one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Chartered Building Surveyor

  • Chartered Building Engineer

  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor

  • RICS Registered Valuers

  • Chartered Builders

  • Health and Safety Consultants

  • Chartered Structure and Civil Engineer

  • Chartered Environmentalist

The firm has an ethical policy and encourages employees to carry out charitable work and public service. The firm is an RICS Inclusive Employer and offers favourable terms to emergency services, HM forces and NHS workers, teachers and other public servants. We also like to get involved with our local community and are a corporate member of the Richmond Rugby Club.

The firm is Regulated by RICS and has £2 million Professional Indemnity Insurance. A copy of our credentials, policies and insurances are available on request and we are happy to prove our competence and standing in this way.

Hannent Chartered Surveyors has employees certified by the following bodies: Association for Project Safety, Chartered Institute of Building, Chartered Association of Building Engineers, Society for the Environment, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Institute of Directors, and actively engages with these professional organisations. We believe we strongly benefit from membership, particularly in keeping up to date with the latest issues, trends and professional thinking.

It follows that continuing professional development is an important part of this engagement. Not only do we attend events, courses and seminars and disseminate the information through the company, we also run our own in-house training, to ensure that our team far exceeds the requirements of our professional bodies.

As part of our engagement with professional bodies, we also work with universities and other organisations to mentor and develop newcomers to the industry.
